The scope of an Express Registered Letter is the national territory *including Andorra) and abroad.
- Zone 1: Europe (including Greenland).
- Zone 2: Other countries.
Characteristics
An Express Registered Letter must not exceed the maximum dimensions shown below:
- When you send documents using an envelope or a box: Length + Height + Width = 90 cm, with the greatest dimension being no more than 60 cm.
- When you send documents using a roll/tube: Length + 2 x the diameter = 104 cm, with the greatest dimension being no more than 90 cm.
The minimum dimensions must not be less than the following:
- Envelope or box: 14 x 9 cm.
- Roll/tube: Length + 2 x the diameter = 17 cm, with the greatest dimension being not less than 10 cm.

Logistics Operations and Distribution Periods
Delivery periods (average according to origin / destination):
- Nationwide delivery of 90% of shipments in 1 working day*.
* For mail from or to large towns and cities and posted before 16.00 in branches with afternoon opening or 14.30 in branches only open in the morning.
- If the letter is sent to Europe, the delivery period will be between 1 and 3 working days.
- For all other destinations, the delivery time will vary according to the country.
Express Registered Letters provide the following guarantees:
- Destination within the national territory: If the letter is lost or misplaced, Correos will pay you €30 in compensation.
- Destination abroad: If the letter is lost or misplaced, Correos will return the postage you have paid (not including the certificate or the insurance) plus 30 SDR (Special Drawing Rights). (In Spain, referring to the year 2010: 1 SDR = €1.1246).
