The Electronic Post Box (EPB)
transfers the concept of a physical postal address to the virtual world. it provides users with a
secure, lasting, stable electronic postal address that is completely free-of-charge
Using this electronic address, all users of the service can electronically communicate with all others, with the maximum security requirements met at all times.
All people, both individuals and legal entities, have access to a secure electronic address, one that is unique and non-transferrable. This address can be activated free-of-charge in one of two ways:
- Online, using a digital certificate or electronic DNI.
- Offline, providing proof of identity of the holder at a Correos office (coming soon)
There are currently two applications attached to the secure electronic address:
- Secure Electronic Mail (SEM): This is an identified email account which is secure and Spam-free.
- Electronic Notification Service (ENS): The Electronic Notification Services enables any natural or legal persons to receive notifications issued by the various public authority bodies electronically. Notifications from all issuing bodies will be sent to a single, personal, electronic mail box.
The Electronic Post Section, with new applications currently under development, will enable all kinds of electronic documents to be sent, guaranteeing their authenticity, confidentiality and integrity, as well as sent items to be tracked and certified. It will also enable electronic documents to be stored, in accordance with all established security and legal requirements.
