CORREOS is continually diversifying and adapting its extensive portfolio of products and services, which can be accessed throughout our network of multi-service post offices, in order to meet the particular needs of immigrants.

The range of products and services includes packaging, money transfers in minutes, international giro orders, BanCorreos banking services, telephone communications and telephone booths, etc.

CORREOS offers a packaging service tailored to the needs of this social group, making it possible for them to send items back to their home countries easily, and at affordable prices. One such product is the range of pre-paid boxes, which come in two sizes (up to 5 and up to 10 kilos, respectively) and have different rates depending on the destination, essentially falling into one of four categories:

1. Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Ukraine and Russia
2. Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Mauritius
3. Argentina, Colombia and Peru
4. Ecuador

Money sent home by immigrants is essential to the economic development of their countries, constituting an influx of resources which has a direct impact on their family's wellbeing. The agreement with Western Union means that CORREOS is able to transfer money to over 200 countries, making the service available to immigrants via its network of 2,200 post offices.Sent by electronic transfer, the money takes just 10 minutes to arrive at its destination, and the recipient can easily and safely collect it from the Western Union desk (whether at a travel agent's, police station, post office, etc.) that is most convenient for them.

Also, to further promote money transfers, CORREOS and Western Union periodically announce discounts and special rates according to destination. Various agricultural seasons are also reflected in promotions for workers harvesting seasonal fruit –strawberries, cherries, olives, citrus fruits, bananas, etc. –, as well as the Christmas campaign, summer campaign, etc.

The main recipient countries for money sent from Spain are: Morocco, Romania, Argentina, Colombia and Peru.

Alongside this, CORREOS offers an international giro service, which is aimed at people who are looking for a more affordable option or who, because they make regular money transfers, do not place such a high premium on immediate delivery.

In 2008, the Ministry of Public Works, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and CORREOS signed a collaboration agreement to facilitate money transfers to immigrants' home countries, which has been implemented in the form of agreements with public postal operators in Morocco, Chile and Uruguay, making a new urgent international giro service available. This type of giro allows money to be transferred between Spain and recipient countries (and vice versa, quickly, securely and at very reasonable rates.

BanCorreos, the CORREOS-Deutsche Bank brand of banking and financial services, puts the ‘Future Postal Account/Book’ at the disposal of immigrants, usable throughout the network of multi-service post offices and which offers them very advantageous terms and conditions in response to their particular needs and circumstances: no administration or account maintenance charges, free cheque book, free access to the online banking service 24-hours a day, either by phone, 902 337 338 or online www.bancorreos.es, free debit and credit cards for the first year, automatic and free changes to direct debits, etc.

With this account, provided either a salary or pension is deposited into it and the account balance remains over 100€, immigrants have the right to free repatriation insurance, so that their bodies may be returned to their country of origin in the event of death.BanCorreos also made a Flat Rate available to customers, whereby, for the low price of 3 Euros a month, customers may make national and European-wide transfers of up to 50,000 Euros, deposit cheques and renew their Servired debit card for free, as well as access a 24-hour telephone service on homecare assistance, legal and medical advice.

Around 150 post offices located in areas with high immigrant populations offer a telephone booth service, with a total of 300 telephone booths, which customers can use to make calls to any national or international number in a comfortable environment and without connection charges.
