General Elections and Elections to the Andalusian Parliament
CORREOS HAS DELIVERED OVER 413,000 VOTES FROM ABROAD TO THE PROVINCIAL ELECTORAL BOARDS
- More than 30% of the votes have been delivered to the Regional Electoral Boards of A Coruña, Madrid and Pontevedra
- Votes from 109 countries have been delivered. Over 67% have come from Argentina, France and Venezuela.
Madrid, 12 March 2008.- CORREOS has delivered to the Regional Electoral Boards, as of 9:00 am this morning, 413,038 postal votes deposited by citizens registered with the Electoral Census of Absent Residents Abroad (C.E.R.A.) for the General Elections and Elections to the Andalusian Parliament, held on Sunday, 9 March.
The provinces where the most votes have been delivered have been A Coruña, with 46,257, Madrid (40,221) and Pontevedra (37,680).
As regards their origin, the majority of the votes, over 67%, have come from Argentina (129,919), followed by France (61,562), Venezuela (38,253), Switzerland (27,033) and Uruguay (20,672).
Compared to the 2004 Elections, the number of CERA votes received, from a total of 109 countries, has risen by more than 23%.
