Loss

The beneficiary of any compensation for damage or loss will always be the sender. If the sender wants the recipient to receive the compensation, they must present a signed request to Correos authorising the compensation for the recipient.

  • Deadlines to register an incident or claim: minimum 7 days due to loss and maximum 4 months, from date of the shipment receipt.
  • Compensation: €23.44 + insurance, if contracted.
  • The Declared Value is added to the compensation amount if you contracted it. Incidents will be compensated by the lowest of the following amounts:
  • For the declared value.
  • For replacement of the lost object.
  • For repair of the damaged object.
  • Terms and Conditions: incidents must be reported at the time the delivery is received. If not, we will consider the shipment to have been delivered in good condition and will not allow any claims.
  • If claiming for a lost or damaged shipment or missing content, with Insurance or Declared Value, we may ask for documentation accrediting the value of the goods, or invoices for repair or replacement.

Paq Estándar / Paq Premium

  • Deadlines in which to register an incident or claim: minimum 3 days and maximum 1 year, from the reception date of the shipment.
  • Compensation: €5.98 per kg invoiced.
  • The minimum compensation is €40. The Declared Value and any All-Risk Insurance contracted can be added to the amount of the compensation, the maximum coverage of which is €6,000.
  • Terms and Conditions: compensation corresponding to the amount of the contracted insurance plus the refund of the charge.
  • The shipments regulated by the LCTTM (Law on Contracting Land Transport of Goods) have insurance associated so, in the event of a claim, the lowest of the following amounts will be paid:
    • For the declared value.
    • For replacement of the lost object.
    • For repair of the damaged object.
  • Documents to provide: if claiming for a lost or damaged shipment or missing content, with Insurance or Declared Value, we may ask for documentation accrediting the value of the goods, or invoices for repair or replacement.
