Ordinary SAD - Mainland Spain and Balearic Islands

Any shipment valued at more than €150 and all those containing goods of less than this amount but subject to excise duties (alcohol or tobacco) or customs controls (health, pharmacy, Soivre, phytosanitary, etc.) will be processed by H1.

In these cases, the shipment will be subject to the payment of customs duty, the corresponding VAT and any Special Taxes that may be applicable As well as the applicable postage rate.

If you contract the services of Correos to carry out the customs processing, you will have to pay the corresponding fee for the processing of the SAD, customs presentation and handling costs, in addition to the corresponding fee for border security procedures that have to be carried out when required by Customs based on the nature of the goods.

However, we will send you an estimate beforehand with all the costs that you will have to pay to clear the goods.

You may designate Correos as your Customs Representative to clear customs and deliver the shipment conveniently to your home. You will receive a communication called "Notice of Arrival" informing you how to proceed from the website www.correosaduanas.es.

You must log in and assign your shipment, an assistant will request the necessary data to complete the document that appears on the backside. This way, we get all the necessary and correct information to process the parcel as soon as possible. There is no need for a digital certificate or digital signature.

  • For import management, the following documentation must be scanned and uploaded to the website:
    •  "Notice of arrival" document completed and signed.
    • The importer’s ID Document (DNI).
    • Proof of purchase and payment.
    • Additional documents may be requested depending on the nature of the goods.

As soon as we have received it, we will send you a  quotation  by email, which you will have to pay on the website.

The invoice will indicate all the amounts that must be paid to import the parcel through Customs:

  • VAT:
  • Duty:
  • Special taxes.
  • Tariff for SAD management.
  • Customs presentation tariff.
  • Any other amounts resulting from inspections.

 

Correos will check that the invoice has been paid correctly and will then proceed to clear your shipment with Customs.

If you do not go through the Post Office:

  • If you are a private individual and you have a digital signature, you can process the import via a   form, simply provide us with the release document from the Tax Office (AEAT) via the website.  Customs will provide you with this document once you have completed all the formalities and paid the fees.

In addition, at the time of delivery, you will have to pay the associated postal charges, according to the current rates.

  • Through another Customs agent: You must upload the AEAT release document via the website  and pay Correos the corresponding fees for document transfer, custody and processing of shipments.

 

Customs has the power to inspect or retain shipments of goods and to apply any controls they deem necessary.
