New Import Security Regulations

Do your packages come from outside the European Union? If they do, you should keep reading!

New EU regulations come into effect from 15 March 2021 aimed at protecting the single market and its citizens. Correos will be required to provide information in advance to the EU Import Control System 2 (ICS2) containing details of the goods being brought into Spain by air.

Don’t worry! All you will need to do is enter all your personal data properly when placing your orders.

The data must be provided in digital format by the country of origin of the goods (a country outside the EU) or by the sales platform/website on which the purchase is made. This information will be used by Spanish Customs (Aduana) to perform the necessary security controls now in effect under the Union Customs Code (UCC).

Provided that the data  provided are correct and genuine, you will receive your orders as a recipient of the goods in Spain through the standard import channels without any problem.
