What is in the new GDPR regulation?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the EU document regulating and protecting the processing and free circulation of the personal data of natural persons.

What are personal data?

Data that can easily identify you: first name, surname(s), identity card number, address, email, etc.

Therefore, the protection of these data is a fundamental right.

Why does Correos process my data? How does it use them?

At Correos, we use your data to provide the service you have contracted, respond to a request, or conduct surveys to understand how we can improve, provided you have given us your consent.

We will only transfer your information when obliged by Law and required by a judge or court.

If I give my consent can I withdraw it?

Of course. By writing to our postal address or email derechos.protecciondatos.correos@correos.com you can request withdrawal of your data at any time and free of charge. We will also remind you of this possibility on all the commercial communications we send.

What other rights do I have?

  • ARCO rights: access, rectification, cancellation and opposition.
  • Right to portability: a copy of all the data you have provided will be sent.
  • Right to restrict processing: we will not be able to use your data for certain processing or they will be blocked for a period of time.

Finally, if you believe that we have misused your data you can contact our Data Protection Officer or file a claim with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

How long are my data kept?

Only for the time necessary to carry out the intended processing. After this time they are deleted.

Does Correos share my data with other people?

At Correos we will never share your data unless the circumstances so require: 

  • If we are obliged by Law.
  • If you make a request to Correos that should really be directed to another Correos Group company.
  • If you authorise us to share your data with other Correos Group companies or with third-party companies so they can send you commercial information.
