Insurance for international parcel delivery

At Correos, we reserve the right to refuse to grant this insurance, depending on the type of goods, the requested value or the destination. The coverage excludes fraud, ordinary spillage, loss of weight or volume due to natural wear and tear, and use and deterioration due to defects related to the item itself.

The value of the objects covered by the insurance will not be altered for any other value that may appear in customs documents or on the shipment invoice. In the event of an accident, the lower amount will be paid out:

  • Declared value.
  • Cost of returning the lost item.
  • Cost of repairing the damaged item.

Cash On Delivery

Receive payment for your shipments in a safe, simple, reliable way. At Correos, we reimburse you the amount paid by the recipient, which appears on the item.

Electronic proof of delivery

Recorded delivery receipt, signed electronically with time stamp and with detail of the recipient's signature, sent in a PDF file. With the guarantees of Correos. 

It can be verified using the secure verification code viewer which enables you to download the file to check the integrity and authenticity of the time stamp and the signatures it contains.
Go to a Post Office and choose yourpreferred  International Flat Rate packaging between padded or rigid envelope and medium or large box.
Prepare your shipment. Close the packaging securely and provide us with the sender and recipient details.
Ask us at to contract the International Flat Rate. We will make sure it reaches its destination.

To apply the Tarifa Plana Internacional, just choose one of these packaging options:

Less urgent deliveries by Correos: any type of packaging.

More urgent deliveries by Correos Express:

  • Padded envelope: 425 x 300 mm, up to 3 kg.
  • Small box: 350 x 280 x 100 mm, up to 5 kg.
  • Medium box: 390 x 280 x 190 mm, up to 10 kg.
  • Large box: 500 x 300 x 300 mm, up to 15 kg.

Less urgent deliveries by Correos:

  • Zone A: Countries belonging to the European Union, indicative delivery deadlines.
  • Zone B: All other countries, guaranteed deadlines (please see the terms and conditions for delivery deadlines in Annex I and the available destinations and delivery deadlines in Annex II).

More urgent deliveries by Correos Express: the delivery deadline varies between 3 and 5 working days, depending on the destination country. Please visit one of our Post Offices for further information, as the deadlines may vary because of Fedex.
