You can view the full catalogue of the Correos y Telégrafos Library
The Correos y Telégrafos Library is on the ground floor of the Post and Telegraph Museum. It was created in 1876 to collect publications relating to subjects specific to the organisation and make them available to its employees.
The centre holds 9116 items in the specialist Post, Telegraph and Philately section, and 84 titles in 133 volumes making up the pre-1802 collection, which is available for consultation. It also has periodical holdings with 145 journals in 1,141 volumes.
Among all these titles, a place of honour is reserved for the legacy of Doctor Thebussem, a pseudonym used by Mariano Pardo de Figueroa, the first Honorary Postman in the history of the Post Office. This legacy, under the title Papeles Varios-Correos, consists of 726 documents relating to mail and philately, all of great value and interest.
The cataloguing work carried out over the years is now available in an online catalogue (OPAC) using SABINI library management software, making it easy to consult our specialist and very special collection.
From now on, anyone who wants to consult our Library’s catalogue can do so anywhere in the world, or from the Library itself, which now has a WiFi point which users can choose to connect their devices to the internet for more convenient work and research.
The catalogue will gradually add titles in PDF format for online consultation, beginning with the work recently published by Correos to mark its 300th Anniversary, "XXI siglos de la comunicación en España. Historia de Correos y Telégrafos" (21 Centuries of Communication in Spain. A History of the Post Office).
