CIVIC VALUES. X SOLIDARIA (CHARITABLE X). AWARENESS.
Civic values are the set of behaviours considered positive for the growth of society.
This year, Correos is once again issuing a stamp dedicated to Civic Values, a series of principles that all citizens should follow, respect and share.
Over the years, these stamps have expressed important values, such as solidarity, diversity, creativity and respect.
This year, the stamp is dedicated to the 'X Solidaria' (Charitable X) from the income tax return, and its objective is to raise awareness among citizens to encourage them to tick its box each year, and thus enable the state to allocate these funds to help citizens in less favourable situations.
The ‘X Solidaria’ campaign is coordinated by the Social Action NGO Platform and has the support of the Third Sector Platform, the Spanish Volunteer Platform, the European Poverty Network and the fight against Social Exclusion in Spain, the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities, the Platform of Childhood Organisations and the NGO for Development Coordinator.
This stamp, in addition to encouraging citizens to tick the box, commemorates the thirtieth anniversary of ‘X Solidaria’ and its overall objective: to continue defending social rights through different projects that benefit millions of people. All these actions are possible thanks to all the taxpayers who decide to allocate their taxes to charitable causes.
The stamp includes an illustration in which a group of people, representing taxpayers, are carrying a large poster of the 'X Solidaria' 30th anniversary logo.
Simply ticking this box means that assistance can be given to cancer patients, actions of labour inclusion can be carried out, as well as collaborations with victims of gender violence, efforts can be made to help women in rural environments to find work, support can be given to people with addictions, as well as many other initiatives.
