Standardised correspondence:

Standardisation has many advantages both for the Post Office and for the customer. Standardised posted items can be handled automatically, lowering the cost for the Post Office; This cost is reflected in the charge applied to the customer's shipments, which will be cheaper. For correspondence to be considered standardised, it must meet a series of requirements:

• Rectangular shape. In an envelope or as a card;
• Envelope colour: white or light colours (except blue);
• Format of writing: letters between 2 and 8 mm high, not superimposed or touching each other; font of a type in commercial use, avoiding fancy fonts, italics, underlining and letters that are either very thin or very thick; printed in black or another dark colour, avoiding fluorescent inks;
• Dimensions: Envelope or card: between a minimum of 14 x 9 cm and maximum of 23.5 x 12 cm. Maximum thickness 5 mm.
• Maximum weight: 20 gr.

Conditions:

Customers should use envelopes and packaging that ensure the integrity of the content. Correos offers a wide range of packaging to suit your needs: envelopes, boxes, prepaid, etc. Once the item is sealed, the return address and the recipient's details must be visible on the packaging. Letters with commercial content addressed to Andorra, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla must include a completed DA 1 form.
