The shipment can only be delivered to the intended recipient, and always after they have provided proof of identity. Delivery to entities, companies or third parties is not permitted, even with signed authorisation. There is the option to include two recipients.

Authorisation Prior to Delivery (APD)

Control your deliveries at all times. Block your shipment so that it is held automatically once it arrives at the delivery office or unit and unblock it when you want to authorise its delivery or return. 
Click SEND and register your shipments online to speed up the process, or visit one of our branches where you can do the entire process in person.
Indicate the type of shipment you want, fill in the details and say whether you want to add any services.

Responsible Shipping: This type of non-urgent shipping is more environmentally sustainable because it allows delivery routes to be optimised during transportation, which helps reduce emissions and is also more socially sustainable because it is managed by a public Spanish company operating throughout the country that is committed to stable, quality employment for all its professionals. 

Paq Standard Correos is the ideal choice for your non-urgent shipments, with delivery periods between 48 and 72 hours, depending on the origin and destination:

  • This type of non-urgent shipment enables us to optimise delivery routes by waiting until the vehicle is full, helping to reduce emissions. Not everything is urgent, but looking after the planet is. So we’d like to thank you for your commitment to the responsible use of parcel services.
  • With guarantees: two attempts at home delivery with a signature and in a guaranteed period. We also offer delivery to Correos Post Offices or  Citypaq lockers. If delivery cannot be made, we will leave a notification in the postbox stating the Post Office where it can be collected within 15 days. If we do not meet the deadline, we will refund the charge paid.
  • Includes Modify: easily modify the delivery details for your shipment from a computer or mobile phone and adjust it as needed in real time. You can also choose whether the recipient can make changes and what modifications they can make. This option is available for all national parcel shipments with home delivery.
  • For your peace of mind: know where your parcel is at all times, with arrival notification via the Correos app, e-mail and/or SMS to the recipients. 
  • Close to you: for Spain, Andorra and mainland Portugal deliveries.

Delivery details

You choose your perfect packaging. We have lots of products available in our Online Shop and in all Correos Post Offices!

Of course, the size must fit these measurements:

Standard Correos Paq Sizes

Maximum:

  • Box: Length + Height + Width = 240 cm, with no measurement being more than 120 cm.
  • Roll or tube: these items may not be longer than 120 cm or more than 30 cm wide.

If you want to send something bigger, don't worry, add an Extra Maximum for a slightly higher price:

  • Length + Height + Width = 300 cm for 35% more. 
  • None of the measurements can exceed 240 cm for 35% more.

Or add the two extra dimensions for 70% more.

Minimum:

Box: 10 x 14.5 cm.

Roll or tube: dimensions that allow a 10 x 14.5 cm label to be attached.

And it should weigh no more than 30 kg! 

The volumetric weight is calculated by us.

Now you just have to tell us where you would like us to send it:

  • Home: two delivery attempts with signature. If delivery cannot be completed, the shipment will be held at the designated Correos office for 15 calendar days. 

For shipments destined for Portugal, the shipment will be returned after 7 calendar days from the last delivery attempt.

  • Chosen Correos Office: The shipment will be sent to the Post Office you select, which must have a parcel delivery point, where it will remain available for 15 calendar days from the date of the first notification. 

We will notify the recipient of the shipment’s arrival via the Correos app, email, or SMS.

  • Nearest office: : Delivery will be made to the Correos Office linked to the recipient’s address, where it will remain available for 15 calendar days from the date of the first notification.  

In this case, the recipient is notified with a paper arrival notice placed in their mailbox, which may be reinforced with a push notification, SMS, or email alert.

  • Citypaq: The shipment will be delivered to the public or private Citypaq locker designated by the recipient (restricted access), who will be notified of its arrival via SMS, email, or push notification. 

The shipment will remain in the locker for 5 days from the date of notification and if not collected, it will be transferred to the Reference Correos Office for a period of 15 calendar days. This delivery method is not available for shipments destined for Portugal. 

It is important that your details and those of the recipient are clearly visible on the packaging. 

Remember that you can generate the label and pay for the shipment to speed up processing.

What is volumetric weight?

Guarantees and delivery periods

If your shipment suffers any incident upon arrival at its destination, you will be compensated by Correos. If you would like the compensation to be paid to the recipient, you must provide signed authorisation.

National Guarantees:

For delay:

  • Time limits for submitting claims: The customer has a maximum of 21 days from the first delivery attempt to submit a claim. 
  • Compensation: the charge paid is refunded.
  • Terms and Conditions: Delivery times range between 48 and 72 hours across the national territory, depending on origin and destination, and are subject to  the time the shipment is accepted.
  • For shipments to or from the Canary Islands, delivery times are extended by 5 days; for Ceuta and Melilla, an additional 6 days apply. 
  • In shipments with the origin or destination in Andorra, the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla, the time for customs processing will not be counted.
  • The return period for undelivered shipments will be 24 hours longer than the outbound shipping time. 
For damage:
  • Time limits for claims to give rise to compensation: the issue must be reported to Correos at the time of delivery or within the following 7 calendar days after receipt of the shipment. 
  • Compensation: €6.67 per kg invoiced.
  • Terms and Conditions: for this type of incident, an expert opinion will determine the amount to be paid for the damage.
  • Documents to provide: we will request photos of the packaging and damaged contents to verify the damage and whether the packaging was adequate to ensure its integrity. During reception, our staff may advise you on how to prepare your shipment and offer you the most appropriate packaging.
  • In the event of a claim for a damaged or incomplete shipment covered by Insurance or Declared Value, we will request documentation proving the value of the goods, such as a repair or replacement invoice.
  • Customers with contracts will receive compensation according to the terms and conditions set out in their contracts. 
For loss:
  • Time limits for the claim to result in compensation: a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 1 year, from the date of admission  of the shipment.
  • Compensation: €6.67 per invoiced kg plus a refund of the shipping charge. 
  • If the shipment has a Declared Value or Comprehensive Insurance, with a maximum coverage of €6,000, the compensation will consist of reimbursement of the delivery price plus the Declared Value or Insurance. 
  • The shipments regulated by the LCTTM (Law on Contracting Land Transport of Goods) have insurance associated so, in the event of a claim, the lowest of the following amounts will be paid:
    • For the declared value.
    • For replacement of the lost object.
    • For repair of the damaged object.
  • Documents to provide: in the event of a claim for a lost, damaged, or incomplete shipment covered by Insurance or Declared Value, we will request documentation proving the value of the goods, such as a repair or replacement invoice.
  • Customers with contracts will receive compensation according to the terms and conditions set out in their contracts.

 

How long does Correos take to deliver a parcel?

Find your nearest Correos branch and bring us your delivery. We will deliver it within 48–72 hours across the entire national territory, depending on the origin, destination, and time of acceptance.

Tips for your shipment with the Paq Estándar from Correos service

Paq Estándar from Correos shipping is an economical and convenient way to send your shipments nationally. But there are a few tips you can follow to ensure that your shipments reach their destination safely and securely.


Check the dimensions and weight of your shipment

The Paq Estándar from Correos has a maximum weight of 30 kg and maximum dimensions, which you can check above. If your shipment exceeds these dimensions or weight, you will have to hire a different shipping service.

Pack your shipment securely

To avoid damage in transit, it’s important to pack your shipment securely. Use the appropriate packaging materials, such as cardboard, bubble wrap or Styrofoam. Make sure that the contents of your shipment are well protected and cannot move within the packaging.

 Include the necessary information on the label

Your shipping label must include the following information:

  • Address of the sender
  • Recipient's address
  • Recipient’s telephone number (optional)

 

 Track your shipment

Once you’ve sent your shipment, you can track its status on the Correos website. This will allow you to know where your shipment is and when it will arrive at its destination.

Here are some other very helpful tips:

  • If you are sending a valuable package, consider taking out one of our insurance policies. This will protect you in case the parcel is damaged or lost.
  • If you’re sending an international parcel, make sure you know the shipping requirements of the destination country.
